Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make adjustments to a piece on your site?
Absolutely! Every single piece on our site is completely customizable. Custom jewelry is our specialty. Please contact us at hello@alexisjae.com to create your perfect piece. You can learn more about customizing your jewelry here.
What happens once I place an order?
If it's a standard order, just sit back and relax. Your order will arrive within 4-6 weeks. If it's a custom order, we'll send you a CAD design (a file of what your jewelry will look like) for your approval. From there, you can let us know if you want to make any adjustments, and approve. Once it's approved, you can expect the piece in 4-6 weeks while we create it.
How do I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?
Please email us within 24 hours at hello@alexisjae.com. If beyond that time frame, will try our best to make the changes, but cannot guarantee that the piece is already in production.
When will I receive my order?
All orders are shipped within 4-6 weeks of payment. If your order is completely custom, it may take a bit longer. We will discuss timing with you during that process.
Do you make engagement and wedding rings?
Yes! The greatest benefit of shopping with Alexis Jae is that you can completely customize engagement rings and wedding rings. From stone selection to designs, we can craft the ring of your dreams — and your soon-to-be-fiance's dreams, too.
Do I get to approve the designs for my custom order?
Of course! We will create a computerized image for your approval and will not begin creating it you approve of the design.
What happens if I don't like my custom order?
During the design process, we will work with you to revise your digital images. We'll never begin crafting your custom order without your approval first. If the design changes significantly during this process, we may have to alter the price. The final piece will be exactly like what you approved during the design process, too! If it's not to your liking, we cannot accept returns, but are always willing to work with you to try and make things right. All of that said, we haven't had an unhappy customer yet!
Where do you source materials?

Just reach out! All of our pieces are made to order, so we can accommodate any ring size.
Do you offer other chain options?
Unless otherwise stated, our pieces usually come with a standard cable chain. We are happy to substitute chains! A few style types are listed on our website in the chains section. We have tons of options, so if you don't see what you're looking for just ask!
What metal types do you offer?
Most of our pieces are in 14k or 18k gold. We are able to offer yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold. We often work in sterling silver and occasionally in platinum. We don't offer stainless steel. Please reach out if there's another metal type, you're interested in.
What is the difference between 14k and 18k gold?
When a piece of jewelry contains 14k, 18k, or even 24K gold, it’s referring to the gold content in the metal used to make the piece. Gold purity is defined along a scale of 24. The top-end, 24-karat gold, refers to solid gold without any other metals mixed in. 1 karat refers to a piece of metal that is 1/24th gold. That means that for every gram of gold, there are 23 grams of other metals mixed in. You can use this ratio to deduce how pure your piece of jewelry is. For example, a 14-karat gold necklace is approximately 60% pure gold. Meanwhile, an 18-karat gold engagement ring is 75% pure gold. This measurement helps jewelry sellers and buyers know the relative value of the item they’re buying. Learn more about the difference between 14k and 18k gold on The Glistener.
Do you have a physical location?
Our offices are in New York City, but we don't have a storefront. If you're shopping for engagement rings or wedding rings, you can make an appointment to stop by for stone selection.
Should I get my jewelry insured?
Yes! We always reccomend insuring your jewelry. We have partnered with Oyster for a seamless insurance experience. You can also speak with your home or renters insurance about adding your jewelry to your policy.
Do you keep any inventory?
We keep a very limited amount of inventory in order to provide you the lowest cost jewelry with the greatest opportunity to customize. This also reduces waste, making our jewelry more sustainable.
Are you open to wholesale?
Yes! Our family has been manufacturing jewelry for designers and stores for years. Email us at hello@alexisjae.com, and let's chat about wholesale jewelry offerings.
Have a question we haven't covered?
